Plasencia Auditorium and Congress Center
The Plasencia Auditorium and Congress Center, designed by Selgascano, is located on the outskirts of Plasencia, Spain, where the urban area meets the natural countryside. Situated on a site that has been significantly changed by human-made barriers, the design of the building takes advantage of the natural landscape by minimizing its impact and respecting the contours of the land. Because of the surrounding 17-meter-high embankments, the building is positioned well below street level, seamlessly blending into the surroundings and creating a distinct natural element within an expanding urban area. The structure acts as a visible landmark, representing a harmonious integration of architecture with the Extremadura countryside, and interacts dynamically with its environment both during the day and at night.

The London Aquatics Center
The London Aquatics Center stands as a masterpiece of fluid and dynamic architectural design, a creation by Zaha Hadid Architects. Located in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the center’s remarkable construction was initially tailored for the 2012 Summer Olympics. Its unique roof design elegantly arches over the pools, evoking a wave or water droplet with its smooth, futuristic look. Emphasizing transparency and openness, the design incorporates extensive glass to bathe the interior in natural light, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor spaces. The center boasts a 50-meter competition pool, a 25-meter diving pool, and a 50-meter warm-up pool, all set within a spacious and versatile environment designed to cater to elite athletes and the public alike.
