Zaha Hadid Architects completed a multi-purpose structure known as “Linkong Economic Park” for SOHO in Shanghai, China. The building, designed in the form of a winding ribbon, aims to connect the facility with the surrounding community and reflects the vibrancy and energy of the city. With its iconic and bold design, this mixed-use ‘park’ stands apart from the surrounding retail context and possesses a highly visible identity. The building features four twisting and elongated volumes, each representing a distinct set of activities, and integrates nature into the dense urban environment with intimate courtyards and a green roof. Throughout the interior spaces, the curved forms and expansive volumes define how the facility is used and experienced, creating a truly unique and dynamic space.
