Journeying to Pattaya from Bangkok has been made more convenient and efficient over the years, with the expansion of toll gates. Alternatively, travelers can embark on the renowned Sukhumvit Road, also known as Highway 3, which spans an impressive 488 kilometers from start to finish. Beyond Bangkok, Sukhumvit Road transforms into a scenic coastal route that extends all the way to Koh Kong, Cambodia.

Pattaya is a renowned destination that captures the hearts of tourists from around the world. With over 20 major golf courses within a 50-kilometer radius of the city, easily accessible by public transportation, the city shines as a global destination for major golfing tournaments. For those not interested in golf, Pattaya also offers stunning beaches, shopping, seafood options, and the nearby accessible island of Ko Lan, providing a chance to enjoy one of Thailand’s beautiful islands without the need for a plane ride.

It is common to see colorful signs displaying names of cities or landmarks around Thailand’s destination points. The Pattaya City sign, located on Pratumnak Hill between South Pattaya and Jomtien, is one of the largest in the Kingdom. This bright orange sign stands out from any part of Pattaya Beach, serving as a captivating backdrop for panoramic or aerial photos. The sign is more than just eye appeal – it is a unique destination that can be experienced up close. Positioned below the sign is a large platform where people can watch the sunset and enjoy a unique view of the vibrant beach city and local nightlife.

The scenic viewpoint below the iconic Pattaya City sign offers breathtaking views of the Gulf of Thailand, Pattaya Beach, Ko Lan, and Ban Hai Pier. Visitors can also witness the city’s vibrant public skatepark, bustling with residents partaking in group exercises, skateboarding, and socializing. Reaching the viewpoint is simple, whether by taking a free shuttle bus from Ban Hai Pier, hiring a motorcycle taxi, or getting a ride to the top by pointing to the sign. The Pattaya City sign is open 24 hours a day, welcoming visitors to experience its beauty at any time. Whether in the early morning or late evening, a visit promises unforgettable sights, though large crowds are expected at all times.

Norman Foster

7 More London Riverside was designed by the renowned architect firm Norman Foster. The building is the final and largest building within the More London masterplan and provides a new 10-storey, sustainable headquarters for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. The building incorporates a variety of energy-saving strategies. In addition to a high-performance façade designed to offer shade and insulation, the building features solar hot water panels, green roofs, and fully automated building management and metering systems. A Combined Cooling Heating & Power (CCHP) trigeneration plant provides a low carbon source of cooling, heat, and power. It has resulted in 55% less CO2 emissions than that required under the 2006 Part L2 Building Regulations.

The building’s design ensures it is visible from all sides, lacking a distinct ‘front’ or ‘back’. The zig-zag facades not only provide privacy for the interiors but also allow natural light to brighten the office space. The external louvers on the glazed facades create a dazzling effect by capturing and reflecting light and colors, bringing the building’s outer skin to life. Additionally, the symmetrical wings open towards the river, offering breathtaking views and ample daylight. The three curved bridges connecting the wings add a touch of elegance, while the southern elevation respects the height of the surrounding buildings along Tooley Street.

A triple-height internal atrium serves as a vibrant central plaza for the building’s occupants. It is a space where art and architectural elements come together, reflecting the lively atmosphere of More London. The escalators lead to a mezzanine level that houses client meeting rooms and entertaining facilities, while lifts transport staff directly to the office floors. Illuminated by two skylights, the atrium provides a stunning focal point for the circular landscaped terrace above, which is just one of several roof gardens. The building’s incorporation of a green roof and a rubble roof, simulating a wartime habitat that attracted birds, adds a unique touch to the modern development.

Switzerland unveils its pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025

Switzerland’s pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025 in Kansai exemplifies a forward-thinking approach that blends culture with sustainable architecture. The design, crafted by Manuel Herz Architekten in association with Bellprat Partner and NUSSLI, reflects the expo’s theme, “Designing the Future Society for Our Lives.” The pavilion will focus on three central themes: “Augmented Human,” “Life,” and “Planet,” exploring cutting-edge technology, life sciences, sustainability, and more. It aims to foster important discussions on global issues and contribute to Swiss-Japanese relations through interactive and educational engagement.
The pavilion is a marvel of innovation and sustainability. It consists of four lightweight, interconnected, and recyclable double-chamber ETFE foil structures, setting a record as the lightest structure ever created for a World Expo by the Swiss. The interiors, designed by Bellprat Partners, use color and light to create distinct areas amidst lush vegetation. Manuel Herz Architects’ plan to cover the spheres with plants that will grow in all directions, emphasizing sustainability by growing the plants in local nurseries to remove CO2 from the atmosphere. The pavilion is not only a stunning piece of architecture but also a testament to responsible and sustainable design.
The “Spheres of Swiss Innovation” is all set to captivate the expected 28 million visitors during the expo. The pavilion will house a rooftop bar that offers breathtaking views and serves as a communal space for festivalgoers, creating an engaging and enjoyable atmosphere. Manuel Salchli, Commissioner General of the Swiss Pavilion Expo 2025 Osaka, expressed his enthusiasm for this collaboration, stating, “As a founding member of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), Switzerland has taken part in numerous world exhibitions. Through our past participations, we have built a compelling brand with the Swiss Pavilion. Following my initial role as Pavilion Director at Expo 2005 Aichi, it is both a pleasure and an honor to further enhance the already strong Swiss-Japanese friendship as Commissioner General, twenty years later.”
Recently, CADG unveiled the China Pavilion for Expo Osaka 2025. Additionally, BWM Architects revealed the design for the Austrian Pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025. Well-known architects such as Kengo Kuma & Associates unveiled the design for the Qatar Pavilion for Expo Osaka 2025.
