Pattaya is a renowned destination that captures the hearts of tourists from around the world. With over 20 major golf courses within a 50-kilometer radius of the city, easily accessible by public transportation, the city shines as a global destination for major golfing tournaments. For those not interested in golf, Pattaya also offers stunning beaches, shopping, seafood options, and the nearby accessible island of Ko Lan, providing a chance to enjoy one of Thailand’s beautiful islands without the need for a plane ride.
It is common to see colorful signs displaying names of cities or landmarks around Thailand’s destination points. The Pattaya City sign, located on Pratumnak Hill between South Pattaya and Jomtien, is one of the largest in the Kingdom. This bright orange sign stands out from any part of Pattaya Beach, serving as a captivating backdrop for panoramic or aerial photos. The sign is more than just eye appeal – it is a unique destination that can be experienced up close. Positioned below the sign is a large platform where people can watch the sunset and enjoy a unique view of the vibrant beach city and local nightlife.
The scenic viewpoint below the iconic Pattaya City sign offers breathtaking views of the Gulf of Thailand, Pattaya Beach, Ko Lan, and Ban Hai Pier. Visitors can also witness the city’s vibrant public skatepark, bustling with residents partaking in group exercises, skateboarding, and socializing. Reaching the viewpoint is simple, whether by taking a free shuttle bus from Ban Hai Pier, hiring a motorcycle taxi, or getting a ride to the top by pointing to the sign. The Pattaya City sign is open 24 hours a day, welcoming visitors to experience its beauty at any time. Whether in the early morning or late evening, a visit promises unforgettable sights, though large crowds are expected at all times.

These impressive steel structures may seem complex individually, but their intersection points are concealed beneath an artificial mound, covering the concrete podium. Surrounding the main lobby area are several galleries and five hanging 2,000 m² gallery pods, all dedicated to celebrating Sheikh Zayed and the UAE.
Aesthetically, the goal was to combine contemporary architecture with the flowing patterns of traditional Arabic design. The design of the free-form wings was aided by a team of complex geometry experts, who manipulated the form using various parameters to produce an optimized structure maximizing aerodynamic stability and pinpointing areas of weakness. Vertical steel sections were used to shape the frames, connected to circular hollow sections forming the curved arches.
In a practical sense, all building elements were centered on efficiently providing daylight and cooling in a harsh, arid environment. Each wing serves a separate gallery pod below, with no direct connection, allowing a free zone around the circumference through which light can pass. The arches and columns of the podium are carefully molded to direct sunlight, providing areas of shade and illumination.
Yashima Mountaintop Park
Yashima Mountaintop Park, envisioned by studio SUO, offers an extraordinary “three-dimensional pathway” experience that beautifully showcases the breathtaking landscape of Setonaikai National Park in Japan. This groundbreaking glass pavilion features lookout points, a café, and adaptable spaces for events and exhibitions, redefining visitors’ interaction with the park near Takamatsu City. Beyond traditional static structures, the design incorporates a 220-meter-long glass corridor that harmonizes with the natural topography, winding around and above the site to create a central courtyard and intimate garden spaces, seamlessly integrating architecture with the natural contours.

OODA has revealed Bond Tower, a breathtaking 50-floor mixed-use building on Dritan Hoxha Avenue in Tirana. This design combines residential, commercial, office, and hotel spaces, mirroring the city’s vibrant urban life. The tower features a facade inspired by traditional Albanian carpets and showcases interconnected volumes that evoke the grace of ballerinas. Its innovative form breaks up large urban masses while integrating public and green spaces inspired by Albania’s mountains.
